Virginia Tech collected five bonus-point victories, highlighted by Eddie Ventresca’s 21-5 technical fall over Ty Tice at 125 pounds and Rafael Hipolito Jr.’s 22-6 technical fall over Tavian Camper at 157. Those technical falls delivered five team points apiece and helped create a substantial margin early on. Connor McGonagle’s fall at 133 pounds over Easton Cooper added six more team points and kept Chattanooga from mounting a comeback.

Virginia Tech’s strength at the upper weights also played a role. Jimmy Mullen closed with a fall at 285 pounds over Ethan Vergara, and Sonny Sasso’s fall at 197 pounds over David Harper further padded the Hokies’ bonus-point total. Between the pins and tech falls, Virginia Tech turned competitive individual bouts into decisive team scoring.

Chattanooga managed six team points but could not match the string of bonus results by Virginia Tech. In the end the meet was decided by the Hokies’ depth and high-impact victories, with multiple falls and technical falls producing the 31-point margin.
