Appalachian State rides three bonus wins to 30-6 SoCon victory over Bellarmine
No. 25 Kaden Keiser’s first-period pin and bonus victories from Colt Campbell and Tomas Brooker produced a 24-point margin for the Mountaineers in Boone.
Appalachian State used a burst of bonus-point wrestling to build a lead it never surrendered in a 30-6 home victory over Bellarmine in Boone on Feb. 1, 2026.
The night’s decisive moment came at 149 pounds when No. 25 Kaden Keiser converted a first-period takedown and finished with a pin over Zac Cowan, a result that supplied six team points and flipped momentum in App State’s favor.
The Mountaineers widened the gap with two more bonus performances. At 174 pounds Colt Campbell turned in a 17-3 major decision, and at 184 Tomas Brooker closed early with a 19-4 technical fall. Those three bouts combined for 15 bonus points and formed the scoring run that effectively decided the dual.
Bellarmine found a late highlight at 141, where No. 32 AJ Rallo edged Aldo Hernández in sudden victory after a 1-1 regulation score that included a riding-time point. Rallo’s overtime takedown produced the 4-1 decision but it was insufficient to halt Appalachian State’s roll.
Bellarmine’s Noah Hall supplied an earlier counterpunch at 165, reversing Anthony Conetta in the closing seconds to claim a 10-5 decision, but App State still won eight of the 10 weights. Stephan Monchery added a 7-3 decision at heavyweight in a bout that featured Daulton Mayer, who carries a national ranking.
The victory kept Appalachian State unbeaten in conference duals; App State improved to 4-0 in SoCon competition while Bellarmine took its first league loss. With the Mountaineers collecting multiple bonus results and key decisions across the card, the home team left Varsity Gym with a comfortable cushion and the conference advantage.
