VMI @ Edinboro Recap
Edinboro Men's Wrestling blanked Virginia Military Institute Men's Wrestling 44-0 in Edinboro, PA on November 16, 2025. The Green and Gold piled up bonus points all night, turning the dual into a shutout through a string of technical falls and a pin that left VMI scoreless.
Several decisive bouts defined the result. Amonn Ohl’s fall at 133 pounds provided six team points and was one of the biggest moments of the dual. At 165, #33 Ryan Burgos closed his match with a 17-2 technical fall, while #19 Jared McGill dominated at 184 with an 18-3 technical fall. Those ranked wins helped create the cushion Edinboro needed. Chris Vargo’s 15-0 technical fall at 125 also stood out as a dominant performance that added five more points.
Edinboro’s margin came from bonus-point wrestling across multiple weights. Tech falls, a major decision at 174 by Tate Geiser (17-5), and Brody Evans’ 21-6 technical fall all compounded, and the accumulation of extra-team points made a comeback impossible for VMI. The combination of a pin and repeated tech falls turned what might have been a competitive dual into a rout.
The 44-0 final was a complete team effort by Edinboro, with several wrestlers picking up bonus victories and two ranked grapplers delivering convincing wins. VMI was unable to register a single team point in the dual.
