Air Force @ Wyoming Recap
Wyoming topped Air Force 30-14 in Wyoming on January 12, 2024, pulling away thanks to a string of bonus-point victories that created a decisive cushion in the dual meet.
The Cowboys piled up team points with several dominant performances in the lower- to middle-weights. Garrett Ricks scored a 15-1 major decision at 133 pounds, and Cole Brooks followed with an 18-2 technical fall at 141 to rack up bonus points. Gabe Willochell’s fall at 149 added the extra damage and marked the turning point in the dual, as those bonus results opened a margin Air Force struggled to erase.
Air Force did get back on the scoreboard with quality bonus wins of its own, but they were not enough to overcome Wyoming’s run. Most notably Wyatt Hendrickson closed with a fall at heavyweight, which trimmed the gap late, but the earlier major, tech and pin victories for Wyoming had already swung the team score. The 30-14 final reflected Wyoming’s ability to convert dominant individual outings into team points when it mattered.
