Northern Iowa @ Wisconsin Recap
Northern Iowa knocked off Wisconsin 28-12 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on February 21, 2025. The Panthers collected the kind of bonus-point haul that swung the dual decisively, finishing with a 16-point margin in Madison.
Cael Happel was one of the biggest factors, posting a 23-7 technical fall over Carson Exferd to deliver five team points. Colin Realbuto followed with a pin of Royce Nilo, a six-point burst that widened the gap and made the meet scoreboard lean firmly toward Northern Iowa.
Parker Keckeisen added another major swing with a 20-3 technical fall over Dylan Russo, worth five team points and further insulating the Panthers’ lead. At heavyweight, Lance Runyon closed his outing with a fall over Gannon Rosenfeld, another six-point bonus that sealed the dual for Northern Iowa.
Those four bonus-point victories — two falls and two technical falls — were the decisive factor. Wisconsin was unable to match the bonus production, and Northern Iowa’s collection of pins and technical falls created a margin that the Badgers could not overcome.
