West Virginia @ American Recap

West Virginia topped American University 32-6 at American University in Washington, DC on November 8, 2025. The Mountaineers pulled away largely through bonus-point wins, turning tight moments into a comfortable 26-point margin.

The deciding factor was West Virginia’s bonus-point haul. Three technical falls and two major decisions accounted for 23 of WVU’s 32 points, a swing that made the final margin hard to overcome. That collection of bonus results supplied the bulk of the team scoring and kept American from mounting a comeback.

Individually, a trio of technical falls stood out. #4 Ty Watters dominated Kaden Milheim 21-6 by technical fall, while Jordan Titus (#29) rolled to a 20-3 technical fall over Elijah White. Brody Conley (#22) added another bonus win with a 16-1 technical fall against Hunter Hohman. Each of those finishes produced five team points and built the cushion West Virginia needed.

West Virginia also picked up two major decisions to close out the damage. #18 Ian Bush beat #28 Caleb Campos 11-2 by major decision, and Rune Lawrence (#26) posted a 9-0 major decision over Caleb Close. American finished with six team points, but the string of bonus victories from the Mountaineers decided the dual.
