Michigan defeated Virginia Military Institute 45-0 at the Bahna Wrestling Center in Ann Arbor, MI on November 9, 2025. The Wolverines blanked VMI in a one-sided dual built largely on multiple bonus-point victories and a string of technical falls from across the lineup.

At 285, #4 Taye Ghadiali delivered one of the most decisive results, defeating Cole Will 22-6 by technical fall for five team points. Michigan’s upperweights kept the pressure on with bonus scoring that repeatedly swung the team score heavily in their favor and kept VMI from getting on the board.

Mid‑weight ranked matchups also went Michigan’s way. #9 Beau Mantanona beat Beau Lewis 16-1 by technical fall and #13 Brock Mantanona handled Gideon Gerber 24-9 by technical fall, each earning five team points. On the lighter side, #20 Diego Sotelo accounted for another five-point technical fall with an 18-0 win over Malachi Ortiz.

The dual was decided by that accumulation of bonus points rather than a handful of close decisions. A relentless sequence of technical falls and other bonus-score wins created an insurmountable margin and produced the shutout, giving Michigan a 45-0 victory over Virginia Military Institute.
