LARAMIE, Wyo. — Oregon State defeated Wyoming 25-12 on Jan. 31, 2026, pulling away with multiple bonus-point victories while Wyoming’s two big bonus wins kept the Cowboys within reach late.

Oregon State built its margin with a pair of multi-point results. No. 22 Nash Singleton posted a 17-8 major decision at 141 and No. 4 Justin Rademacher closed a key chunk of the dual with a 19-4 technical fall at 197. Renteria’s major and Rademacher’s technical fall supplied the bonus points that created separation down the stretch.

The dual opened with a high-end decision at 125 when No. 10 Maximo Renteria beat Sefton Douglass 9-2; Renteria secured a third-period takedown and a riding-time point to seal the result. Renteria’s late takedown and riding-time scoring were logged in the bout transcript as the match’s deciding sequence.

Oregon State also gained bonus scoring at 165 when No. 25 Matthew Olguin recorded a 12-2 major decision and at 174 when No. 25 Daschle Lamer won a 4-1 sudden-victory decision in overtime. CJ Hamblin delivered an upset in the middle weights, beating No. 24 Jared Hill 8-2 at 157 to add a decision that further tilted the dual in the Beavers’ favor.

Wyoming countered with two late bonus victories that kept the dual within reach. No. 8 Christian Carroll recorded a 19-4 technical fall at heavyweight, producing six takedowns and an escape in the stat line; Carroll’s technical fall provided a five-point swing in the closing slot. Earlier, Luke Willochell — listed among the ranked winners that night — posted a 13-5 major decision at 133 to give Wyoming valuable bonus points and a brief lead in the early going.

Wyoming’s No. 10 Eddie Neitenbach added a 12-5 decision at 184, reversing an early deficit and finishing with a third-period takedown and a riding-time point, but the Cowboys were unable to overcome Oregon State’s combined bonus output.

The bout transcripts show a number of late-scoring sequences that determined individual outcomes: Renteria’s takedown and riding time closed his match at 125, and Rademacher’s takedown early in the second period produced the technical-fall threshold at 197. Those late sequences helped convert individual momentum into team points for Oregon State.

The result moved Oregon State to 6-1 on the season, and dropped Wyoming to 4-5, according to the respective team reports. Oregon State collected bonus points at 141, 165 and 197; Wyoming’s bonus scoring came at 133 and 285.

Oregon State won seven of the weights and finished the dual on the strength of timely bonus scoring and a handful of ranked wins. Wyoming’s late heavy- and upper-weight bonus results narrowed the margin but were not enough to change the outcome in Laramie.
