Cornell @ Princeton Recap
Cornell Men's Wrestling defeated Princeton Men's Wrestling 35-3 in New Jersey on February 9, 2024. The Big Red turned a dual that ended up lopsided into a showcase of bonus-point wrestling, finishing with a 32-point margin.
Two technical falls were the clearest difference-makers. Vito Arujau’s 19-4 technical fall at 133 delivered a five-point swing, and Meyer Shapiro’s 21-5 technical fall at 157 added another five. Those two dominant performances removed any chance for a comeback and created the cushion Cornell needed to press for bonus in other matches.
Cornell also piled up major decisions at several weights. Brett Ungar’s 11-2 major decision at 125 and Lewis Fernandes’ 8-0 major decision at 285 each produced four team points and helped turn a string of wins into a commanding total. In all, Cornell recorded six bonus-point victories, a mix of majors and technical falls that made the score decisive.
Princeton managed just three team points as Cornell’s bonus scoring proved the difference. With five- and four-point wins scattered across the lineup, Cornell closed the dual comfortably and walked away with a comprehensive 35-3 road victory.
