Princeton @ Drexel Recap
Princeton picked up a 24-13 road victory over Drexel at Drexel University in Philadelphia on February 1, 2025. The Tigers collected enough bonus points to create separation, while Drexel stayed in the match with one big major decision.
Marc-Anthony McGowan’s performance at 125 pounds was a game-changer for Princeton. McGowan defeated Desmond Pleasant 17-2 by technical fall, good for five team points and a sizable cushion that forced Drexel to chase extra scoring. On Drexel’s side, Jasiah Queen answered with a 14-4 major decision over Xavier Giles at 174 pounds, a four-point swing that kept the Dragons within striking distance.
Princeton extended its advantage in the upper weights when Luke Stout took a 9-1 major decision at 197 pounds, adding another four points that increased the margin. The decisive blow came at heavyweight, where Sebastian Garibaldi recorded a fall over Dom Petracci, the six-team-point bonus essentially sealing the meet for the Tigers.
In the end Princeton’s three bonus-point victories were the difference, offsetting Drexel’s major and delivering an 11-point dual win. Drexel showed fight in key bouts but could not match Princeton’s extra-point production when it mattered.
