Central Michigan @ Clarion Recap
Central Michigan picked up a 28-10 dual meet victory at Clarion on February 18, 2024, at Clarion University. The Chippewas built a margin largely with bonus-point results while Clarion managed one major decision that kept the hosts competitive through the middle weights.
Central Michigan got a technical fall from Johnny Lovett at 157, ending the match 21-3 and delivering five team points that swung momentum firmly in the visitors favor. Jimmy Nugent added a major decision at 141, 12-3, for another four-team-point swing that increased the cushion and forced Clarion to look for high-value answers.
Clarion’s Cam Pine answered with a major decision at 184, winning 11-3 for four points and giving the home crowd something to cheer. It was not enough to stop Central Michigan from finishing strong. The Chippewas closed the dual with a decisive fall from Bryan Caves at 285, a pin that supplied six team points and effectively sealed the outcome.
In the end the bonus-point barrage from Central Michigan proved decisive. Four bonus wins against one for Clarion created the 18-point final margin, 28-10, leaving the Chippewas with the dual victory in Clarion.
