Minnesota topped Wisconsin 29-12 in Minneapolis on Feb. 16, 2024, cruising to a 17-point dual meet victory. The Golden Gophers piled up the bonus points that decided the match, while Wisconsin answered with a couple of big wins of its own.

Minnesota’s highlight was Patrick McKee’s fall at 125, a six-point swing that was a clear momentum boost. Vance VomBaur followed with a 17-5 major decision at 141, and those bonus points kept Minnesota comfortably ahead through the middle weights. On the other side, Wisconsin’s Joseph Zargo and Dean Hamiti did damage for the Badgers, with Zargo’s 13-5 major decision and Hamiti’s 20-3 technical fall carving out key team points.

The turning moment came in the upper weights when Minnesota reasserted control. Garrett Joles’ 18-3 technical fall at 197 delivered another five-point bonus that helped put the dual out of reach. Bennett Tabor’s 11-1 major decision at heavyweight added insurance and capped the Gophers’ run of bonus victories.
