George Mason rolls past Bloomsburg 39-6 in MAC dual
The Patriots collected multiple bonus-point victories through the middle weights and left Bloomsburg with a decisive road victory at Bloomsburg University.
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — George Mason topped Bloomsburg 39-6 at Bloomsburg University on Jan. 16, 2026.
The visitors built an insurmountable margin with a string of bonus-point results in the middle of the lineup. No. 20 Kaden Cassidy opened the heavy stretch with a 16-0 technical fall at 149, scoring all points in the first period and ending the bout by technical fall.
Tate Hisey followed with a 16-4 major decision at 141, and No. 22 DJ McGee added an 11-2 major at 157. Drew Dickson delivered a tight 8-6 decision at 165, and No. 28 Logan Messer closed his match by fall at 174. No. 26 Malachi DuVall capped the sequence with a 16-0 technical fall at 184. Jack Kelly later recorded a fall at 197 as George Mason extended the margin.
Those tech falls, majors and pins produced six bonus-point victories among George Mason’s nine wins and created the cushion Bloomsburg could not overcome.
Bloomsburg’s lone late-team highlight came at heavyweight, where Mason Rebuck pinned George Mason’s Herbert Billups to earn six points for the Huskies. That result narrowed the final margin but did not alter the outcome.
Several matches were closely contested. JB Dragovich outlasted Gavin Mundy in sudden victory, recording a takedown to win 10-7 at 133. Ben Monn opened the dual with a 4-1 decision at 125, and the crowd saw multiple stalling calls and cautions across the lineup that shaped several bouts.
The win improved George Mason’s standing in conference play and continued a strong stretch for the Patriots; game summaries from the host and visitor schools noted that George Mason earned bonus points in the majority of its wins and left Bloomsburg with its second Mid-American Conference victory of the season. Bloomsburg fell to a sub-.500 mark in overall and conference play per the schools’ recaps.
George Mason travels next to face Navy; Bloomsburg will regroup at home as it looks to resume conference play later in the month.
