Iowa @ Bellarmine Recap
Iowa handed Bellarmine a 49-0 loss in Louisville on November 15, 2024, at Bellarmine University. The Hawkeyes piled up bonus points throughout the dual to build a runaway lead, leaving Bellarmine scoreless in a comprehensive team performance.
A handful of high-impact bouts tilted the meet decisively. At 125 pounds Kale Petersen opened up a big margin with a 26-6 technical fall that accounted for five team points. Drake Ayala followed with a 14-6 major decision at 133 to keep the pressure on and add four more points to Iowa’s total.
The dual was effectively sealed by pins that produced six-point swings. Jacori Teemer finished Gray Ortis by fall at 157, and Ben Kueter closed the dual with a fall at heavyweight, both scores delivering major boosts to the team total. Those falls, combined with the earlier bonus results, made a comeback unrealistic for Bellarmine.
Beyond the four highlighted bouts, Iowa’s depth showed up in a string of technical falls at multiple weights that padded the margin and prevented Bellarmine from gaining any traction. The 49-0 final reflected Iowa’s ability to convert takedowns and finishes into bonus points across the lineup while Bellarmine struggled to answer.
