California Baptist @ Presbyterian Recap
California Baptist edged out Presbyterian 42-3 at Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., on December 15, 2025. The visiting Lancers piled up bonus points all afternoon to build a decisive margin and leave little room for a comeback.
What decided the dual was California Baptist’s string of bonus-point victories. Richard Murillo’s fall at 133 pounds supplied a six-point swing and energized CBU’s attack. Two nationally ranked performers followed with dominant results: Jesse Vasquez, ranked #33 at 141, won by technical fall 17-2, and Drayden Morton, ranked #32 at 157, also closed out a 17-2 technical fall. Those bonus wins stripped away any hope of a tight match and created the bulk of the scoring gap.
Mason Espinoza’s major decision at 174 pounds added four more team points and helped seal the outcome. Across the middle weights California Baptist combined pins, majors and technical falls to turn individual wins into a lopsided team score rather than a handful of narrow decisions.
Presbyterian managed just three team points in the dual as CBU’s high-rate bonus production proved the difference. With multiple tech falls and a fall among the key bouts, California Baptist left Clinton with a comprehensive 42-3 road victory.
