Five consecutive bonus-point results — technical falls, a fall and a major decision — turned a close early dual into a 22-point road victory for Missouri in Orem, Utah.

OREM, Utah — No. 19 Missouri defeated Utah Valley 31-9 on Jan. 17, 2026, turning a competitive early stretch into a decisive road victory with five consecutive bonus-point finishes.

Utah Valley kept the dual close through the first half when No. 25 Haiden Drury posted a 1-0 decision at 141 and No. 16 David Evans edged No. 18 Josh Edmond 5-4 at 149. Jack Forbes later closed the night with a 13-8 decision at 285 for another Utah Valley victory.

Missouri shifted the dual with a five-match run that began at 157. Teague Travis opened the decisive stretch with a 19-4 technical fall. J. Conway followed with a fall at 165 after building a 12-3 advantage via four first-period takedowns. Cam Steed then recorded a 17-2 technical fall at 174; play-by-play entries show Steed added a four-point nearfall with 35 seconds left in the second period and a late takedown that completed the technical-fall margin.

No. 2 Aeoden Sinclair extended the run with a 19-3 technical fall at 184, and No. 14 Evan Bates capped the sequence with a 12-1 major decision at 197, the latter including a reversal and a riding-time point that sealed the margin.

Missouri also collected early quality decisions at the lower weights. No. 17 Mack Mauger opened with an 8-2 decision at 125, and Gage Walker earned a 4-1 overtime takedown win at 133. Those results helped set the stage before Missouri’s upper-weight surge.

The five consecutive bonus-point outcomes were the turning point that created the final 31-9 margin; team and local reports noted Missouri’s run of bonus results as the decisive sequence in the dual. The victory improved Missouri to 8-6 (2-1 Big 12) while Utah Valley fell to 3-6 (1-3 Big 12).
