Chattanooga @ Gardner-Webb Recap

Chattanooga topped Gardner-Webb 29-14 in Boiling Springs, North Carolina on February 3, 2024, in a Southern Conference dual meet decided largely by bonus-point wrestling. The Mocs collected multiple majors and falls that built the margin, while Gardner-Webb answered with a pair of dominant bonus wins of their own.

Chattanooga got four high-impact results: Brayden Palmer cruised to a 15-2 major decision at 125, Isaiah Powe recorded a fall at 141, Kamdyn Munro added a 13-4 major decision at 165, and heavyweight Kaleb Snodgrass finished with a fall at 285. Those bonus-point victories provided the bulk of Chattanooga’s offense and separated the teams on the scoreboard.

Gardner-Webb was not without fireworks. Jha'Quan Anderson turned in a technical fall, winning 17-1 at 184, and Josh McCutchen picked up a fall at 197. Those decisive victories kept Gardner-Webb competitive in stretches and showcased the depth the hosts brought to the middle weights.

The turning point was Chattanooga’s collection of bonus wins across multiple weight classes, which delivered the cushion the Mocs needed. Even with Anderson’s and McCutchen’s big performances, Gardner-Webb could not overcome the string of majors and pins that favored Chattanooga, handing the visitors a 15-point dual meet victory.
