North Dakota State left Lockhart Arena with a 19-15 Big 12 win over Utah Valley after a dual defined by alternating momentum and a handful of high-impact bonus results. The final four-point margin reflected a meet where bonus points decided the outcome.
Utah Valley grabbed the early edge. No. 30 Bridger Ricks opened the dual with a 4-2 decision over No. 22 Ezekiel Witt, scoring a takedown with under a minute remaining to seal the result. The Wolverines kept pressing: No. 18 Haiden Drury followed with an 11-2 major decision at 141, and No. 16 David Evans produced an 18-3 technical fall at 149 to deliver five bonus points and put Utah Valley firmly in control.
North Dakota State answered with a decisive string. Tristan Daugherty evened the score in sudden victory at 133, and Gavin Drexler started a momentum swing with an 11-8 decision at 157. The turning point came at 165, when Boeden Greenley posted a 15-3 major decision — an extra four team points that proved critical in offsetting Utah Valley’s trio of bonus wins.
NDSU extended the run with close decision wins at 174 and 184, and Devin Wasley’s 5-3 victory at 197 secured the dual before the final bout. The Bison’s five consecutive victories clinched the road result; Utah Valley won the heavyweight bout to close the night but could not overcome the bonus deficit created by Greenley’s major and NDSU’s late stretch of tight wins.
The matchup also had program context: Utah Valley celebrated Senior Night in front of a reported 1,482 fans and collected four senior winners, while North Dakota State overcame an early slow start to claim its fourth straight Big 12 dual victory on the road. The Wolverines were competitive thanks to their bonus production, but the Bison’s consecutive decisions and Greenley’s major decision delivered the margin of victory.
