Chattanooga defeats Davidson 43-3

The Moccasins piled up technical falls, a pin and multiple major decisions to clinch the Southern Conference dual.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga defeated Davidson 43-3 at the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga on Jan. 23, 2026.

The Mocs collected bonus points throughout the dual, winning nine of 10 bouts and clinching the match after the sixth bout.

Forfeits at 125 and 157 opened the scoring. Elijah Lowe followed with a 21-5 technical fall at 133 and Hunter Mason recorded a 16-1 technical fall at 141 to give Chattanooga an early cushion. Bout transcripts show Lowe recorded takedowns in each period and a first-period four-point near fall, and Mason’s second-period four-point near fall with 11 seconds remaining produced the 15-point margin that ended his match.

Mason Reiniche pinned Christian Rutherford at 165, a fall that added six team points and effectively sealed the dual. Reiniche scored a three-point takedown in the first period before finishing by fall.

Chattanooga extended the lead in the upper weights. Kamdyn Munro won a 16-2 major decision at 174, Landon Jones took a 12-6 decision at 184, Kade Rule posted an 11-1 major decision at 197 and Ethan Vergara closed the dual with a 12-1 major decision at 285.

Davidson’s only points came at 149 when Anderson Heap defeated Yuta Otero 3-0. Chattanooga won nine of 10 bouts while allowing a single decision.

The victory moved Chattanooga into a tie for first in Southern Conference standings and improved the Mocs’ record; Davidson fell to 3-10 and 1-1 in conference play. Chattanooga’s 40-point margin reflected multiple technical falls, a pin and three major decisions that determined the dual.
