Stanford beat Virginia 34-9 at Stanford University on January 27, 2025, cruising to a 25-point victory in the ACC dual. The Cardinal collected multiple bonus-point wins that separated the teams and left little doubt by the late going.

The biggest single swing came at 133 pounds when Tyler Knox put Kyle Montaperto on his back for a fall, netting six team points. That pin gave Stanford an early burst of scoring and was matched by other high-impact performances across the lineup.

A decisive stretch featured Jaden Abas at 149, who posted a 14-2 major decision over Jack Gioffre, and Lorenzo Norman at 174, who ran up a 20-5 technical fall on Michael Murphy. Those bonus wins, along with Knox’s pin and later results, accounted for 19 of Stanford’s 34 team points and pushed the Cardinal well past the midway mark, leaving Virginia with too much ground to make up.

At heavyweight, Peter Ming closed the scoring with a 9-0 major decision over Gabe Christenson to further widen the margin. Virginia managed single-digit team scoring but could not match Stanford’s ability to turn matches into bonus points, which ultimately decided the dual.
