South Dakota State topped Drexel 25-10 in a dual at Drexel University in Philadelphia on December 21, 2024. The Jackrabbits’ bonus-point production created the separation on the team scoreboard and ultimately decided the outcome.

Tanner Jordan’s 16-3 major decision at 125 pounds and Cade DeVos’s 14-3 major decision at 174 pounds each delivered four team points and helped build SDSU’s lead. The most decisive result came at heavyweight when Luke Rasmussen closed with an 18-3 technical fall, a five-point bonus that put the dual out of reach.

Drexel picked up a key bonus as well when Luke Nichter beat Moses Espinoza-Owens 12-3 by major decision at 157 pounds for four team points, but that effort could not match South Dakota State’s string of bonus victories. Those extra-team points were the difference in a meet that otherwise featured competitive bouts across the lineup.

In the end, SDSU’s three bonus wins provided the margin in a 15-point victory, while Drexel’s major decision at 157 kept the Dragons competitive in stretches. The final 25-10 score reflected South Dakota State’s ability to convert a handful of matches into bonus points.
