The Citadel 46, Presbyterian 5
Three technical falls, a first-period pin and three forfeits helped The Citadel build a 46-5 dual victory over Presbyterian in Charleston.
CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Citadel topped Presbyterian 46-5 at McAlister Field House on Jan. 22, 2026, piling up bonus points and claiming three forfeits that pushed the dual beyond reach.
No. 30 Gylon Sims set the tone at 125 pounds with a 22-4 technical fall, finishing the bout in the first period after multiple takedowns and a late nearfall that reached the technical‑fall threshold. Carson DesRosier followed with a 20-3 technical fall at 149, and No. 20 Thomas Snipes recorded a 15-0 technical fall at 165; transcript entries show Snipes posted a second-period takedown and consecutive nearfalls that produced the stoppage.
No. 25 Kyrel Leavell added a first-period takedown and a pin at 157, a result that awarded six team points and contributed to the bonus margin. The Citadel also collected three forfeits at 133, 197 and 285 pounds, which accounted for 18 team points in the final total.
Those bonus outcomes and the forfeits accounted for the bulk of The Citadel’s scoring and left Presbyterian trailing early. George Rosas provided a 5-2 decision at 141 after a 3-point takedown in the first overtime period, and Braxton Russell earned a 14-3 major decision at 174.
Presbyterian’s lone victory came at 184, where Reed Douglass scored a 19-4 technical fall over Brodie Porter. Douglass recorded multiple takedowns and a second-period four-point nearfall that widened the margin and produced the stoppage.
Presbyterian’s release and the event summary noted an injury‑riddled roster and the three forfeits that forced the Blue Hose to concede multiple matches. Team releases and the bout card list The Citadel winning nine of 10 bouts in the dual.
The dual opened decisively and never tightened: early bonus results and the forfeits produced a margin that made late individual reversals and Douglass’s technical fall insufficient to alter the outcome.
